Sand Mountain Reporter Last chance to buy for Big Spring Jam By Lionel Green Published September 24, 2009 Today is the last chance for music fans on Sand Mountain to buy weekend passes to Big Spring Jam XVII in Huntsville.The $45 weekend pass for the three-day concert event is not available at the gate and can be purchased at www.bigspringjam.org until 5 p.m. today. The price is $30 per day at the gate. Gates open for general admission at 5:30 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Alabama lead singer Randy Owen, The Black Crowes, Trace Adkins, Collective Soul, The Fray, Sara Evans, Huey Lewis and the News, and Akon are among the major acts headlining this year’s event at Big Spring International Park in downtown Huntsville. Friday’s concerts start at 6 p.m. and highlights include: • WDRM stage: Nash Street, Brady Seals, The Kentucky Headhunters, John Anderson and Randy Owen. • Coca-Cola stage: Dwayne Dopsie & The Zydeco Hellraisers, Here Come the Mummies, WAR and the Village People. • WZYP stage: Moon Taxi, Truth & Salvage Co., Tonic and The Black Crowes. Saturday’s concerts start at 4:30 p.m. and highlights include: • WDRM stage: Tyler Dean, Carter Twins, Her & Kings County, Jonathan Singleton & the Grove, David Nail, Darryl Worley and Trace Adkins. • Coca-Cola stage: Cage the Elephant, Manchester Orchestra, Silversun Pickups, Pop Evil, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Collective Soul. • WZYP stage: Nathan Rateliff & The Wheel, Teen Getaway, Hot Chelle Rae, Matthew Mayfield, Jesse James, Honor Society and The Fray. Sunday’s concerts start at 4:30 p.m. and highlights include: • WDRM stage: Bradley Walker, LoCash Cowboys, The Lost Trailers. Heidi Newfield and Sara Evans. • Coca-Cola stage: Nathan & The Zydeco Cha-Chas, Jason D.
