Children’s letters to Santa make me laugh

Published November 17, 2009

It’s that time of year again when The Reporter is asking area children to send in their Santa Letters. Letters can be e-mailed to news(at)sandmountainreporter.com or mailed to P.O. Box 1729, Albertville, AL 35950. The deadline is Dec. 11.

After looking through last year’s special section, I got a chuckle out of several of the letters. Children also asked for healing for family members and for troops to come home.

Here are some of the letters I enjoyed the most:

• I want a XBOX 360, Rock Band 2, a Wii game. I also want an Ally shirt. I want Grandfather Nickie to get better. I want the troops to come home. Thank you Santa! Love, Michael Miller

• Dear Santa, I want a pair of skates, a hamster, camera, a real cell phone and a computer. Also, would you please bring me a MP3 player and some Hannah Montana things? Santa, please bring me and my family and others what they need! I love you Santa! Love, Aubrey

• Thank you for all the presents last year. This year I want a skateboard that flies, a motor scooter and a surfboard. I also want the movie Karate Kid 2. Dallas Blevins

• Dear Santa, I am 7 years old and I live in Albertville. I want lots of toys this year and I want my mom and dad and grandfather and brothers to have a good Christmas this year. I lost my Maw Maw last year with cancer and I miss her. Tristan B. Pascual

• Dear Santa, I would like a Barbie Doll. I have been good this year. Juana

• Dear Santa, I don’t want anything for Christmas cause my room is full of toys. Nathan

• Dear Santa, I would like to have a guitar and I want a toy for my brother. I like everything High School Musical. Love, Thalia Lopez

• Dear Santa, I’ve been pretty good this year. Please tell Rudolph I said hi. Santa, can you please bring me a dinosaur robot? I also want pixas and bendaroos. Santa, I also want toy power rangers that are different colors. Did you know that I was being good at school? If it would snow here I would ask for a snowboard. And I would build a snowman and have a snowball fight. I hope that Rudolph’s nose is shining bright. I LOVE YOU, Ashton Wise

• Dear Santa, My name is Hannah Childress and I am 5 years old and I go to Big Spring Lake. For Christmas I would like for you to bring me a Hannah Montana skateboard, knee pads, elbow pads, and a helmet. I will leave you some cookies and milk. Hannah Childress

• Dear Santa, Please bring me a bicycle. Please bring Chloe and Carsyn a bicycle too. I have been a good boy. I will leave you cookies and Sprite. I will leave your reindeer bananas and tea. Thank you, Santa. From Cohen Hill

• Dear Santa, I am 2 years old. I have been a good boy this year. Please bring me some cars, toys, balls and many surprises. And also a bike. P.S. I will leave you cereal and milk. And I will leave Rudolph some gum and suckers. Thank you, Santa. From Jacob Laughlin

I’m ready to read what area children are asking Santa for this year. These type letters are something parents will keep for their scrapbooks. I look forward to the day I have a family of my own and memories to share like these. Moments like these only happen once in a lifetime.
