The Douglas varsity girls basketball team improved its record to 3-2 with a pair of wins.

The Lady Eagles knocked off host Brindlee Mountain 49-42 on Nov. 22.

Tori Rojek paced Douglas with 16 points and four steals. Maycee Mahan racked up a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Anna Carol Matthews scored 11.

Tuesday, the Lady Eagles launched Class 5A, Area 13 play by whipping Crossville 69-41 at Loyd Berry Gymnasium.

Bri Walls and Rojek poured in 23 points each. Camille Thompson closed with 10 while Mahan got six.

“This was Bri Walls’ first game back from knee surgery,” DHS head coach Suzan Howard said. “It was awesome to have her back on the floor. She played a great game, and I’m so proud of her for working hard during her rehab to get back on the floor.”
