ATTALLA — Quarterback Brady Troup threw four touchdown passes in the first half to give Etowah a comfortable 47-0 lead at intermission before the Class 5A, No. 2-ranked Blue Devils settled for the 54-0 decision over Douglas in Friday night’s Region 6 matchup.

Troup’s TD passes covered 53, 10, 33 and 38 yards to four different receivers.

Etowah (8-0, 5-0), which travels to Alexandria next week, jumped out to a 20-0 lead after the opening quarter. Troup found Trent Davis from 53 yards out then Emil Smith from 10 yards and Deaundra Williams from 33 yards.

Reggie Phillips and NyNy Davis chipped in with rushing TDs of 54 and 46 yards, respectively.

The only other Blue Devil touchdown came on a hook-and-lateral play from DeRickey Wright from 34 yards out.

Douglas (1-6, 0-5) travels to Cleveland in a nonregion game Oct. 19.
