Sam Moultrie of Guntersville, a junior runner, clocked 16:02.84 to win the Class 5A/7A division of the Lake Guntersville Invitational meet that featured a strong field of 107 runners on Oct. 6.

Dustyn Lewis of Grissom was second with a 16:25.33 to lead the Tigers (33 points) to the team championship. Albertville had 52 to finish second.

The Aggies put three runners in the top 10 — No. 5 Chance Cofield (16:59.03), No. 6 Rodrigo Patino (17:14.13) and No. 9 Arturo Ramos (17:54.65).

Kyle Saylor of DAR won the 1A/4A division race with a time of 18:01.71. Collin Mayfield of Geraldine was second at 18:05.95 in the field of 82 participants.

DAR also won the team championship by posting 31 points. Brindlee Mountain took second with 74.

Guntersville High School served as the host team for the event.
