FYFFE — No. 1 Collinsville dashed No. 5 Fyffe’s dreams of a return trip to the AHSAA State Basketball Tournament by rolling to a 60-41 triumph in Monday night’s girls Class 2A subregional playoff game at Mike Cochran Gymnasium.

The Lady Red Devils finished 24-7 while Collinsville improved to 25-3. The Panthers meet LaFayette on Friday at 3 p.m. in the Northeast Regional semifinals.

Collinsville, which led 16-9 after a quarter, outscored the Lady Red Devils 24-4 in the second to build a 40-13 halftime advantage.

The Panthers fueled their second-quarter explosion by hitting six 3-pointers.

Madison Myers, Maggie Woodall and Marie Woodall scored nine points each for Fyffe. Gracie Hicks netted five.

Collinsville’s Hadley Hamilton poured in a game-high 22 points.
