Bentley makes four All-American teams

Alabama A&M running back Jordan Bentley earned recognition on four FCS All-American teams for the 2019 season, including a pair of first-team honors. He rushed for a Bulldog single-season record 1,483 yards.

Guntersville football legend Jordan Bentley of Alabama A&M has now been named first-team All-American on two teams — FCS All-American by HERO Sports and BOXTOROW.

The AFCA Football Championship Subdivision Coaches selected Bentley on the second team.

He made third team on the Stats FCS All-American Team.

The Bulldog running back is the only representative of the Southwestern Athletic Conference on the FCS HERO Sports and Coaches All-American teams.

The most prolific running back in Bulldog history closed out his collegiate career with a record-breaking season. The 6-foot-1, 217-pounder — the 2016 SWAC Freshman of the Year — rushed for an Alabama A&M single-season record 1,483 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Bentley’s other Alabama A&M records are career rushing yards (3,204), single-game rushing yards (245), rushing touchdowns (18), career touchdowns (43), single-season points (122) and career points (260).

Earlier this month, Bentley graduated magna cum laude from AAMU with a bachelor of science in civil engineering. He epitomized the term student-athlete by finishing with a 3.7 grade-point average.

He was a starter for Guntersville from the Albertville game his freshman year through his senior season 2015. During this era JB and his teammates never lost a game at Chorba-Lee Stadium and never lost home or away to a county rival. There was one regular season loss to the State Champion Oneonta by 2 points and the other 3 defeats were in the 3rd round of the playoffs. One of the great times in Guntersville Football with 2 unbeaten and untied regular seasons.

We had the best of time to broadcast Wildcat Football and follow the career of Jordan Bentley. He has played every year of his life from a 6 year old pee wee to become an ALL-AMERICAN.

play by play is fun when you have an All-American in the backfield.

Thanks Shannon Allen for coverage of the Wildcats and JB's career.
