TUSCALOOSA — Alabama football had seven total players named to The Sporting News’ 2019 preseason All-America list.

Juniors Jerry Jeudy (wide receiver) and Dylan Moses (linebacker) were selected to the outlet’s first team.

The second-team honorees for the Crimson Tide included juniors Tua Tagovailoa (quarterback) and Alex Leatherwood (tackle) on the offensive side of the ball. Rounding out the group of second-teamers are the Tide’s defensive selections in senior Raekwon Davis (line), redshirt senior Anfernee Jennings (linebacker) and junior Xavier McKinney (secondary).

Alabama’s seven players are the most selected from any team, with Clemson coming in second at five.

The SEC has the most first-team selections with eight, followed by the Big Ten with seven.

The Sporting News is one of five outlets used to determine consensus All-American status, along with the Associated Press, the Football Writers Association of America, the American Football Coaches Association and the Walter Camp Foundation.
