Dear Editor:

I live out about four miles from Albertville and five from Boaz. My husband and I built a nice home on family land about 25 years ago. I have a magnificent front porch to sit on in the late afternoon to watch the sunsets. I have a pool I, normally, enjoy out back.

My big complaint is the stench that precludes my enjoying these things. Yes, there are several chicken houses across the way that often perfume the air, but this week, there has been an unbearable putrid odor that even comes into the house. The owner of the chicken houses tells me it isn’t from there, but rather someone around has put raw fertilizer on a hay field (human sewage, I believe.) Can something be done to prevent that from happening again? Is there an agency that would have control over such? This certainly wasn’t a neighborly thing to do.
