Douglas native releases second solo blues album

Posted: Wednesday, May 2, 2012 3:03 pm

Douglas native and successful guitarist Chris Simmons is building a new chapter in his life with a solo career in blues music.

Simmons recently released his second solo album called “Hallelujah Man.” Like his first album, “Old News to Me,” Simmons played every instrument in “Hallelujah Man,” and recorded it in his own studio. He wrote all but two of the songs, which are covers of “Walkin’ Blues,” made famous by Robert Johnson in 1936 and the traditional blues song “God’s Gonna Cut You Down,” made famous by Johnny Cash.
