The Hospice of Marshall County Thrift Shoppe is having a “gigantic” overstock yard sale this weekend.

The sale will take place at the store’s warehouse located at 407 Martling Road in Albertville Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents can purchase all they can stuff in a bag, provided by HMC, for $5.

“Folks will be able to fill these with lots of items,” said Susan Sanders, public relations manager for HMC. “We have reports that during some of our previous bag sales, someone was able to stuff 19 blouses into a bag. That makes us happy and makes our customers happy.”

Clothing, shoes, purses, belts and ties will be available for the sale. Only cash or checks will be accepted. All proceeds benefit “the mission and ministry” of Hospice of Marshall County, a nonprofit, United Way-supported agency, Sanders said.

“The community has been so generous to us,” she said. “We are organizing and cleaning our warehouse area to better present an upscale Thrift Shoppe experience. Some of the clothing items offered during the bag sale will be spring and summer as well as some winter clothing.

“Actually, we have no idea until we empty some of the boxes what treasures the sale will include. Come early for the best selection, and look for additional markdowns during the day.”
