Storms cause ‘widespread damage’ in Boaz

Boaz was “slammed pretty bad” by the storms Monday afternoon, according to Police Chief Terry Davis.

Power is out for the majority of the city from U.S. 431 down Alabama 168 south, including the downtown area. Police also discovered several buildings damaged downtown on Main Street with bricks laying in the middle of the road.
