RSVP offers free tax help

Posted: Wednesday, January 29, 2014 1:05 pm | Updated: 1:06 pm, Wed Jan 29, 2014.

Low-income families, middle-class residents, senior citizens, students and everyone in between can receive free assistance in filing their 2014 tax returns through the Marshall County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.

The Internal Revenue Service recently announced it will begin accepting federal and state tax returns Jan. 31, and residents have until April 15 to file. To assist residents in reaching that deadline, RSVP has more than 40 volunteers certified and ready to do free tax return preparation and filing for all local residents.
