Hey John, good to hear from you. Well done on your petition drive!

Thats true adults have other tips to follow.
    1. They need to be aware of their surroundings.
    2. Park in a lighted area, if at night or leaving at night.
    3. Go with some one.
    4. Carry something for protection like a stick, cane, an umbrella.
5 Have your keys in your hand to unlock your car.

Yes, the best place to get away and defend yourself is at the place of attack. (army tatics)

Well said Leon, but sometimes not only a child but vulnerable aduts also find themslves in these types of situations.
What this child did should be taught to all. Do not let the bad guy take you from one place to another. Your best shot of survival is at he point of attack.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tip should be one - when a child it outside to play or what ever, a parent should be with it. That is the best thing to do - what will knowing an address or a phone number do when one is taken ? Parents have to be responsible !!
