Electric Cities of Alabama (ECA) commends the Municipal Utilities Board of Albertville and the City of Opp Utility Board for its preparation for Hurricane Michael.

As Hurricane Michael makes landfall today along the Florida Panhandle, a large portion of the Wiregrass Area in Southeast Alabama is in the path of a major hurricane. Crews from MUB Albertville are on standby to offer assistance immediately following the hurricane. Needless to say, the City of Opp Utility Board is preparing for Hurricane Michael and will work tirelessly to restore power outages, should they occur, as quickly as possible.

ECA coordinates power restoration assistance to electric city members across the State of Alabama and neighboring states following natural disasters, such as Hurricane Michael. “I am so thankful for the hardworking men and women that work for municipally owned electric companies throughout our state,” said Jon Hand, executive director of ECA. “When disaster hits, it’s reassuring to know there are utilities such as the Municipal Utilities Board of Albertville ready and willing to lend a helping hand.”

Utilities and contract crews from across the country are joining in a coordinated effort to restore power to areas impacted by Hurricane Michael.

The Municipal Utilities Board of Albertville and the City of Opp Utility Board are members of ECA.
