Mountain Valley Arts Council announced the final exhibit in its 2019 lineup: a joint showcase of 10th Annual Children’s Christmas Card Contest entries and a continuation of our Holiday ART Market featuring over a dozen Marshall County artists, according to Mountain Valley Arts Council Marketing Director Claire Richards.

Richards said the exhibit opens Saturday, Dec. 7, and runs through Jan. 2, 2020.

There will be an awards ceremony celebrating this year’s Christmas card winners at the MVAC ART Gallery on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 2-3 p.m.

“Thanks to our generous 2019 sponsors, refreshments will be provided,” Richards said. “Afterwards, enjoy the Guntersville Downtown Merchants’ A Night Before Christmas event.”

Since it always strives to provide donated art supplies, she said the MVAC is calling on the people of Marshall County to help.

She said the supplies will be utilized by county agencies such as the Crain Court Youth Center, the Court Appointed Juvenile Advocates, Guntersville Child Development Centers of Marshall County, Kelley’s Rainbow Shelter, the Child Advocacy Center and many more. Some of the supplies needed include but aren’t limited to: pencils, crayons, coloring pages and cardboard.

“Both monetary and tangible art supplies are greatly appreciated,” she said. “We look forward to seeing everyone December 7th at the Christmas card contest reception supporting our aspiring young community artists.”
