Romance Awareness Month is the perfect time to catch up on some reading with the wide selection of romance novels available at Shades of Pemberley Bookstore.

Since August is Romance Awareness Month, Shades of Pemberley Bookstore Owner Brandi Atchison said she’s hosting a book signing with local romance authors for the official Bookstore Romance Day on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. She said the local romance authors would be in store throughout the day signing copies of their books. She said the local authors participating would include: Joy Ross Davis and Allison Mullinax from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m.; Carla Swafford and Leslie Scott from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.; and Betty Bolte from 3-5 p.m.

Atchison said the bookstore would be going on Facebook Live with HarperCollins Publishing at 11 a.m. during the book signing.

“Come join us for this exciting event,” Atchison said. “If you can’t be in store at that time, be sure to watch us on Facebook and share it with all of your friends.”

According to bookstoreromanceday.org, Saturday, Aug. 17 is the first Bookstore Romance Day. The website stated Bookstore Romance Day is a day designed to give independent bookstores an opportunity to celebrate romance fiction—its books, readers and writers—and to strengthen the relationships between bookstores and the romance community.
