Allison Mullinax took time out from writing to sign copies of her first published novel over the weekend.

Mullinax, a Guntersville High School graduate and romance novelist, was excited to sign copies of “Break the Line” Saturday at Shades of Pemberley, a new bookstore in downtown Albertville.

“Break the Line” is the first of three novels Mullinax will have published this year by Alabama-based Fiery Seas Publishing.

“‘Break the Line’ was actually the second novel I wrote,” Mullinax said. “But, it was the one Fiery Seas published first. It’s more of a novella. ‘When It All Goes Still’ was the first novel I wrote and it will be published in May. It’s a novel and has more meat to it.”

Mullinax’s third novel, “The South Winds” will be published in August.

Currently, Mullinax is working on her fourth novel, which she said will be a romantic suspense novel.

Brandi Atchison, owner of Shades Pemberley, said she has plans to have more book signings from local authors. She plans to invite Mullinax back in May as well as Javin Bonds and Molly Kaiser in the future.
