Businesses located in downtown Albertville are preparing for the 10th annual Main Street Music Festival (MSMF).
It is expected to be the biggest weekend of the year for some businesses.
Shades of Pemberley Bookstore is set to host 10 local authors for a book-signing event Saturday, Aug. 3. Some of the local authors attending the event are: Sandra Davis, Allison Mullinax, Howard Upton and Javan Bonds,
Owner of the Shades of Pemberley Bookstore Brandi Atchison hosted a similar event during last year’s festival. She said the went well. She said she’s excited to continue the tradition this year.
“Last year, we had a lot of people stop by,” Atchison said. “The authors really enjoyed the atmosphere, and all of them said they look forward to it again this year.”
Downtown fan favorite, Local Joe’s restaurant created a special menu for last year’s MSMF. The restaurant only sold specialty sandwiches and half of its menu items. But this year, customers requested for Local Joe’s to offer its entire menu. The restaurant obliged to offer the entire menu. It is set to be open during its regular business hours during the MSMF.
Just in case things get too hot, Sno Biz, a local shaved ice vender, will be open for extended hours to coincide with the MSMF. Sno Biz will host anyone needing a place to cool off with a cone.
“The festival is always nice, because it brings in a lot of cheery people,” a Sno Biz employee said. “Let’s us connect as a business connect with the community.”
