He is survived by his children, Melanie Owens (James), Allen Lee Matthews, Jr., Aaron Keith Matthews, Robert Brian Matthews; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

His funeral service was held Sunday, Dec. 22 at Baltimore Avenue Church of God in Albertville. Bro.’s Aaron Richards, Daniel Baker, Morrell Upchurch officiated. Burial followed in Marshall Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Hedgepath; son, Eric Hedgepath; sister, Pat Hendrix (Calvin).

Gladys Marie Lang McCurdy, 76, of Albertville, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2019.

A graveside service was held Sunday, Dec. 22 at Lang Sampson Cemetery with Pattie League officiating.

She is survived by her husband, Mack McCurdy; sons, Bobby Milligan, Scotty McCurdy (Denise); sisters, Hazel Smart, Syble Rankin; brother, Roger Land (Beverly); six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Oliver Raul Perez, infant son of Oscar and Antonia Perez, of Albertville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, Dec. 21 at Albertville Funeral Home Downtown with Padre Raul Gaviria officiating. Burial followed in Memory Hill Cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Oscar and Antonia Perez; siblings, Oscar Santiago Perez, Daniela Yazmin Perez; grandmothers, Fidelina Zamarripa, Rebecca Flores.

Paulette H. Steward, 52, of Crossville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019.

She is survived by her husband, John Stewart; son, Grant Stewart; sister, Deloris Henderson; brothers, Frankie Henderson, Michael Henderson, David Henderson, Ronald Henderson, Lynn Henderson.

His funeral service was held Sunday, Dec. 22, at Etowah Memorial Chapel with burial following at Noble Hill Cemetery. Rev. Allen Ragan and Rev. Phillip Robinson officiated.

Mr. Parrish is survived by his wife, Bonnie Parrish; sons, Tim (Sharon) Leach, Michael Parrish, Frankie (Paula) Parrish; daughter, Melissa (Eric) Cline; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dayton Parrish, Wendell (Curtistine) Parrish; sisters, Edna Wofford, Linda Maddox, Mary Langley.

Dwight Goggans, 73, of Holt, Florida, formerly of Sylvania, passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019.

Goggans was a graduate of Sylvania High School and retired Master Sergeant of the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by daughters, Corina Goggans and Jill Webb; son, Eric Goggans; step-children, Nick and Wendy; sisters, Ella Krause, Marcella Martin, Brenda Whitten and Ann Rains; brothers, Joe Goggans and Mack Goggans; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Goggans was preceded in death by parents, Nora and Isaac Goggans; three brothers; two sisters; son, Dwight Goggans, Jr.; and two step-children, Melani and Holly.
