Mildred “Crawford” Goss

Albertville

Mildred “Crawford” Goss, 91, of Albertville, passed to her Heavenly Home on Feb. 4. The past eight years she loved sharing and caring for her fellow residents and the staff at Albertville Nursing Home. They were family to her and she to them.

A special thank you to Peggy and Steven Crawford for their love and devotion, as well as, to Dr. Ufford and the staff of Albertville Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by husband Junior and son Ronald. She’s survived by daughters Martha McCauley and Connie Goss; sisters, Sue Sassenberger and Debbie Smith. In honor of her memory, the family asks that a gesture of kindness be made to another precious senior.

Cremation, (per her request) was entrusted to Cremation Services of East Alabama.

Roger Gentry

Boaz

Mr. Roger Lowell Gentry, 78, of Boaz, Alabama died Saturday, Feb. 15, at his residence.

Mr. Gentry was born in Alabama on Jan. 22, 1942, to C.B. and Ruby Gentry. He owned numerous businesses.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Bro. Joey Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Gentry; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Michelle Gentry; daughters and sons-in-law: Stephanie and Scotty Brannon, Amy and Stanley Maroney, nine grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law: Beverley and Dok Abercrombie, Faye and Jerry Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents C.B. and Ruby Umphrey Gentry and brothers, Glen Gentry and Ray Oneal Gentry.

H. C. “Simp” Simpson

Albertville

H. C. “Simp” Simpson, age 92, of Albertville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18.

His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Cowboy Church of Marshall County. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Rev. Paul Kirby and Rev. Max Roden will officiate.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Simpson; daughter, Margaret Simpson Kilpatrick (Glen); son, Chris Simpson; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren.

Albertville Memorial Chapel is directing.

Margaret Ruth Burnett

Boaz

Margaret Ruth Burnett, 72, of Boaz, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Albertville Funeral Home Downtown Chapel. Burial followed in Memory Hill Cemetery. Bro. Bob Hundley officiated.

She is survived by her husband, John Samuel Price; daughters, Ann Malone, Hellen Cothran Davis (Steve), Teresa Cothran Epperson (Lincoln); sons, James Edward Price (Frances), Christopher Wayne Price (Teresa); a sister (name not provided); 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Albertville Funeral Home Downtown is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gatha Kilpatrick

Arab

Gatha Kilpatrick, 74, of Arab, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16.

Funeral services are Friday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Union First Methodist Church Cemetery at Double Bridges. Bro. Ernie Brown will officiate.

She is survived by her sons, Brentson Kilpatrick, Brandon Kilpatrick (Jeanette), Brad Kilpatrick (Telia); nine grandchildren; brother, Paul Gene Williams (Dorothy).

Bonnie Holland

Bonnie Holland, 61, of Boaz, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Funeral services are today, Thursday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m. at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. Bro. Nellon Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant of Crossville.

She is survived by her step-daughter, Beverly Holland; sons, Jim Holland (Margaret), Kenneth Holland (Joyce); four grandchildren; sisters, Lillie Mae Oliver, Rosie Bales, Sara Breeden (Richard), Barbara Holmes; brother, Johnny Bales (Betty).
