Jill Johnson is now the Boaz Area Chamber of Commerce’s executive director.

In a statement to The Reporter, Dale Morton, who is the current chairman of the Board of Directors of the Boaz Area Chamber of Commerce, said Johnson was named the interim president in the wake of former president Jodi Skinner’s resignation in October.

Effective Thursday, Nov. 21, the board officially appointed Johnson to the position of executive, indefinitely. Johnson served as administrative assistant for the last year and a half.

“A good working relationship has already been established between Ms. Johnson, the board members, ambassadors and chamber members,” Morton stated.

Johnson said she is excited for the opportunity and looks forward to settling into her new role.

“It is an honor to work for the Boaz Chamber of Commerce,” Johnson stated. “So many new and exciting things are happening in Boaz. The relationship with the City of Boaz and the [Boaz Area] Chamber of Commerce is stronger than ever before. Working together, all things are possible. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next huge event, Christmas Under the Stars, on Friday, Dec. 6.”
