She is survived by her daughter, Callie McCrary of Knoxville, Tennessee; brother, Michael Hickey of Albertville; sister, Wilma Faye Bowen of Flat Rock; uncle, Kenneth Wayne Harris of Rainsville; one grandson.

Neva May Hicks Muller, 98, of Albertville, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2019.

Funeral services are today, Saturday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. at Guntersville Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Mapel Hill Cemetery, Huntsville.

Gene W. Lewis, 65, of Albertville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019.

Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 18, at noon at Rocky Branch Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the adjourning cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 17, from 4-7 p.m. at the church. Bro. James Bridges, Bro. Matt Long and Bro. Royce Estes will officiate.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Lewis; sons, Marcus Dean Lewis (Amanda), Jarod Michael Lewis (Alanna); three grandchildren; parents, Loretta Lewis and John L. Campbell; sisters, Wanda Eads (Mike), Diane Mahan (Steve), Renee Majors (Terry); brother, Eddie Holland (Teresa).

Eunice Ray Alford, 96, of Albertville, passed away Wednesday Nov. 13, 2019.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. at Adams Brown Service Chapel. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. before the service. Burial will follow in Memory Hill. Bro. Mark Adams will officiate.

She is survived by her sons, Harold Bennett Alford, Jr. (Lynn), Steven Lee Alford (Marcy), Victor Ray Alford (Cathi), Timothy “Pat” Alford (Aghdas); six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Edwin D. Jones, II, 59, of Albertville, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2019.

Donald “Bufford” Sweatt


Funeral services will be held today, Saturday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Donald Bufford Sweatt, who was born on Oct. 28, 1939, and passed from this life Nov. 13, 2019. Interment will follow at Cave Springs Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Alexander Gilbert Sweatt; daughters, Patti Sweatt Morgan (Tony), Carolyn Gilbert Dunn (Elvin), Judy Gilbert Perry (Joe), Phyllis Gilbert Strange (Alan), and Stella Gilbert Fortenberry (Allen); son, Johnny Gilbert (Jan); sisters, Ruby Church, Louise Maddox, Mary Nell Morris, Sarah Tilley, Ovia Busha, and Joyce Downs; and brothers, Willie J. Sweatt, Terry Sweatt, and Jerry Sweatt; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. The family will accept visitors from 12-2 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel.

Carlton Ray Walker


Carlton Ray Walker, 70, of Boaz, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019.

His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Chris Cornutt, Rev. Wayne White and Rev. Shannon Pullen will officiate the service.

Walker is survived by his daughter, Whitney Walker (Blake Dobbins); son, Matthew Blackmon (Kelly); three grandchildren; sister, Juanise Lasseter (Kenneth).

Albertville Memorial Chapel is directing.

Curtis Evan Terry

Pearland, Texas

(Formerly of Boaz)

Curtis Evan Terry, 75, was surrounded by loved ones when he passed away on Oct. 9, 2019. Curtis was born July 16, 1944, in Albertville, to Wesley and Sue Terry. He graduated from Boaz High School, then proudly served his country while in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1962-1965. Curtis moved to Texas in 1981 and was a resident of Pearland for more than 20 years.

Left to cherish the many memories are his daughter, Lee Terry; son, Curtis Bryan Terry and wife, Terri; grandchildren: Ashley Hayes, Harrison Hayes, Rebecca Terry and Nathan Terry; sister, Susan Terry Wise and husband, David; brother, Wesley Terry; niece, April Strickland, as well as many other family members and friends.
