Broussard scores for Rams

IDER — The Ider Hornets handed Asbury a 49-6 setback in Friday night’s Class 2A, Region 8 football game.

Ider built a 28-0 halftime advantage. The Rams’ offense stalled on several drives in the opening half, including a 13-play series where they turned it over on downs inside the Ider 10-yard line.

In the second half, Asbury (1-5, 0-4) drove 75 yards in 11 plays for its touchdown, which came on Dante Broussard’s 12-yard run.

Broussard paced the Rams with 12 carries for 91 yards. He also had three kickoff returns for 41 yards.

McKinley Orr led Asbury’s defense with 12 tackles. Korbyn Patterson made nine tackles and recovered a fumble.

Daniel Mullinax contributed six tackles, Skylar Ford five, Dakota Templeton four and Jacob Gareri, Austin Bloodworth, Josh Gorriz and Gage Farmer all three. Farmer also forced a fumble.

The Rams host region rival and No. 8 Collinsville for homecoming Friday night at 7.
