A veteran Guntersville High School boys golf team is enjoying an outstanding 2019 season.
Dustin Landers is Guntersville’s head coach.
The Wildcats are unbeaten in match play, owning victories over archrival Albertville, Southside, Scottsboro, Boaz and Douglas.
GHS is also undefeated in tournament action, having claimed four championships.
The Wildcats launched their streak of tournament titles by winning the Patriot Invitational on March 25 at The Ledges in Madison. They posted a team score of 312.
Paul Bruce won low medalist by shooting a 3-under-par 68.
Guntersville won its Chick-fil-A Classic on April 3 at Gunter’s Landing by firing a 295.
Bruce carded a 5-under 67 to grab low medalist honors.
On April 11, the Wildcats took first place in the James Clemens Metro Tournament at Canebrake Golf Club in Athens. GHS finished with a 290.
Bruce took low medalist honors for the third time in a row. He led the field with a 6-under 66.
On Monday, the Wildcats shot a 300 to win the Bert McGriff Tournament at Terri Pines Country Club in Cullman.
Trey Moore won low medalist by firing a 3-under 69. Paul Bruce (71), John Bruce (78) and Regan Lefeve (82) joined Moore on the all-tournament team.
