Friday’s rainy weather forced the postponement of first-round state baseball playoff series involving teams in The Reporter’s coverage area.

In Class 6A, Albertville hosts Cullman on Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m. The if-necessary game will be Monday at 4:30 p.m.

The Aggies are hosting a postseason series for the first time since 2003.

The Albertville-Cullman series winner meets either Pell City or Minor in the second round April 26.

In Class 5A, Boaz battles Lawrence County on Saturday at 1 and 3:30 p.m. at Pirate Park. The if-necessary game will be Monday at 4:30 p.m.

The Boaz-Lawrence County winner takes on either Jasper or Etowah in the second round April 26.

Also in 5A, Sardis travels to Russellville on Saturday at 4 and 6:30 p.m. The if-necessary game is set for Monday at 5.

The Sardis-Russellville survivor advances to play either Southside or Corner in round two.

In Class 3A, Geraldine welcomes Lauderdale County on Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m. The if-necessary game will be Monday at 5 p.m.

Geraldine or Lauderdale County will clash with either Piedmont or Lamar County in round two.

Admission to Saturday’s games is $8 per ticket, a price set by the AHSAA.
