Shelby Jean Word, 81, of Crossville, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2020.

Her funeral service was held Sunday, Jan. 26, at Crossville Memorial Chapel. Interment followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Rev. Pete Chadwick officiated the service.

She is survived by her husband, Franklin Pope; daughters, Lana Smith (Danny), Rhonda Holcomb (Sam); four grandchildren; one great-grandson; step-children, Fayestau Cowan (Jerry), Teresa Hammett (Steve), Yalonda Colquitt, Regenia Bailey (Charles), Rodney Pope (Susan), Sonya Camp (Jamie), host of step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Crossville Memorial Chapel directed.

Doris Faye Childress, 76, of Albertville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 26, at Adams Brown Service Chapel with Bro. Gene Lambert and Bro. Don Abbott officiating.

She is survived by her daughters, Pam Blackmon (Jeff), Sheila Mayhall (Chris); son, Raylon R. “R.J.” Childress, Jr.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Thompson Weaver of Lewisburg, Tennessee; brothers, Howard Lee Thompson, Joe Tillett.

Wanda Faye Painter

Crossville

Wanda Faye Painter, 77, of Crossville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020.

Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Crossville Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Pete Chadwick and Rev. Craig Kilgo will be officiating.

Painter is survived by her daughter, Rachel Painter; sisters, Patsy Roden, Jane Johnston (Pete); brother, Stevie Hall (Mary Evelyn).

Crossville Memorial Chapel is directing.

Rhonda McCright White

Gadsden

Rhonda McCright White, 56, of Gadsden, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020.

Her funeral service is today, Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at Pineview FCM Church where she will lie-in-state from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Gary Standfield will be officiating.

White is survived by her husband, Terry White; sister, Tambra Toney (Charles); brother, Michael McCright (April); mother-in-law, Shirley White (Ken).

Etowah Memorial Chapel is directing.

James “Jim” Walk, Sr.

Guntersville

James “Jim” Walk Sr., 74, of Guntersville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020.

He will have a memorial visitation from noon-2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Albertville Memorial Chapel. The family has chosen cremation.

Walk is survived by his wife, Deborah Walk; son, James Walk Jr., two granddaughters; step-daughters: Candy Appleton, Charlie Huntley; sister, Angelia Butts.

Albertville Memorial Chapel is directing.
