The Disabled American Veterans Frank L. Bradford Chapter 18 of Marshall County is sponsoring the ninth annual Disabled American Veterans Charity Golf Tournament on Sept. 6 at Gunter’s Landing Golf Club in Guntersville.

The four-person scramble tees off at noon. Lunch starts at 11 a.m.

The tournament is open to anyone who wants to play and contribute to a worthy cause. All proceeds from the event go toward operating and maintaining the van that transports veterans to and from the Guntersville Veterans Affairs Clinic and the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Hospital.

Registration fee is $80 per golfer or $320 per team, which includes lunch, mulligans, a red-tee blaster and a super red-tee blaster for women and men over age 75, along with one gimme.

Checks should be made payable to DAV Chapter 18. The registration deadline is Sept. 4.

Hole sponsorships are $100 each.

There will be prizes for the first-, second- and third-place teams based on 12 or less teams. If more than 12 teams enter, there will be two flights, with first- and second-place prizes in each flight.

There will also be prizes for closest to the pin on the third, 10th and 15th holes.

Randy Vissers is tournament chairman. To enter or for more information, contact Vissers at 256-558-5851 or r.vissers@yahoo.com.
