Cliff Mitchell’s hiring as Albertville High School’s new head football coach grabbed the headlines during Tuesday night’s meeting of the Albertville City Board of Education.

However, the board approved other agenda items related to the coaching staffs at Albertville Middle School and AHS.

Supplement resignations were:

» Jon David Cotten, AMS golf coach

» Felicia Turner, seventh-grade volleyball coach

» Jeanne Rains, assistant varsity girls basketball coach

Supplement transfers were:

» Katie Battles, from AMS assistant basketball coach to seventh-grade girls basketball coach

» Zayne Ledbetter, from AMS assistant football coach at $1,000 paid by football boosters to AMS assistant football coach at $2,000

» Jefforey Morgan, from AMS assistant football coach to AMS head football coach

Supplement assignments were:

» Katie Battles, ninth-grade volleyball coach

» Emily Jackson, assistant varsity girls basketball coach, to be paid $2,000 from the tipoff club

» Melanie Scott, seventh-grade volleyball coach

Kristen Martin was approved as volunteer assistant volleyball coach for the 2019 season.

Albertville High School has changed previous coaches with the assumed better ones. Their teams were giving very poor results so it was a better decision of changing coaches. You should learn more about us as this decision may yield some better results now.
