Barbara Williamson Astin, 89 of Boaz, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019.

Mrs. Astin was born September 5, 1929, in Collinsville, Alabama, to Luther and Myrtle (Edwards) Williamson. She and her parents moved to Boaz in 1931.

She attended Boaz High School and Snead State Junior College.

Mrs. Astin is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Clark and Myra Astin: her daughter, Carol Astin; and her daughter and son-in-law, Caye and Terry Davis; four grandchildren; Haley Nolen, Carter Astin, Cara Davis and Cody Davis; two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Astin, her brother, Edward Williamson; and her half-sister, Marion Fowler.

Graveside services were held Saturday, July 27, at Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Keith Dodd officiated. Pallbearers were Clark Astin, Terry Davis, Harold Chitwood, Jake Nolen, Carter Astin, and Cody Davis.

Boaz

William Van Priest, 87, of Boaz, passed away Thursday, July 25 2019.

A Memorial Service was held Sunday, July 28, at First Baptist Church of Boaz. Dr. Aaron Johnson officiated.

Mr. Priest is survived by his spouse, Lynette Priest of Boaz; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Barbara Priest of Albertville; two grandchildren.

McRae Funeral home assisted the family with arrangements.

Terry Roden

Boaz

Terry Roden, 55, of Boaz, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019.

His funeral service will be today, Tuesday, July 30, at 2 p.m. at Roden Chapel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Wayne Roden will be officiating.

Mr. Roden is survived by his son: T.J. Graham; brothers and sisters, Larry Roden, Russell Roden, Leslie “Fred” Roden, Tracie Roden, Penny Tims, Tammy Cranford.

Etowah Memorial Chapel is directing.
