Alvanzia “Allen” Cooper, 51, of Altoona, died Nov. 18, 2019.

A funeral service will be held today, Thursday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. at Adams Brown Service Chapel. Interment followed in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Randy D. Smith will officiate. Visitation is from noon to 1 p.m. before the service.

Survivors include sons, Bryce Cooper and Gage Cooper; sisters, Aletta Walden and Wanda Rogers; and brothers, Rodney Marzili and Phillip Marzili.

Adams Brown Service Funeral Home is directing.

Mae Johnson


Mae Johnson, 89, of Guntersville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Fairview United Methodist Church with burial in Eason Johnson Cemetery. Bro. Jerry McCright officiated.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Buchanan; sons, Lloyd Johnson, Robert Johnson; sister, Sara Land.

Liberty, Kentucky (formerly of Boaz)

Rebecca (Spradlin) “Becky” Tungate, 66, of Liberty, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019.

Her funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Elkhorn Baptist Church in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. her hometown of Boaz at Boaz First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Tungate; children, Rebekah Taylor, Mary Wise (Lucas), Clifford Tungate, all of Campbellsville, Kentucky; siblings, Gail Miller, of Florida, Frances VanTassell, of Texas, Beverly Easlic (Don), of Alabama, and Joseph Spradlin (Elaine), of Alabama; five grandchildren; mother-in-law, Audrey Burress, of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
