Kathleen Ann Farrington
The family of Kathleen Ann Farrington (Shilin) is sad to announce that our beloved wife, mother and grandmother has passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020 in Albertville. Kathy was born on Aug. 11, 1954, in Sacramento, California, and was raised in the West Sac Communities of Bryte and Broderick, California. Kathy attended Bishop Manogue High School and Consumes River College. Soon after college, Kathy married the love of her life, Joseph (Pat) Farrington. Kathy and Pat have three wonderful children and seven amazing grandchildren, which were the pride and joy of Kathy’s life! Kathy and Pat lived in Lodi and Woodbridge, California, for over 30 years while raising their three children. During this time, Kathy worked for the City of Lodi and for the Lodi Unified School District. Kathy truly enjoyed her many years working with the staff and students at Lodi High School where she made many lifelong friends. Kathy is of Native American heritage and was a very proud member of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians that has a Rancheria in the gorgeous foothills of Placerville, California. Kathy and Pat moved to Albertville upon Pat’s retirement. Within weeks of arriving in their new community, Kathy was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer. Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Pat. Her adored children, Nicole Rauhuff and her husband, Tim of Stockton, California, Allison Satterfield and her husband, Jason of Albertville and Joel Farrington and his wife, Samantha of Danvers, Massachusetts. She was a cherished grandmother of Max, Addie and Ellie Mortenson, Ava Blue and Jackson Satterfield, and Conner and Makenzie Farrington. Also survived by her mother Elsie Shilin of Cameron Park, California, and brother Danny Shilin and his wife, Terry, of Cameron Park, California. Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Alec Shilin, brother, Tim Shilin and grandparents, Elsie and John Fonseca. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathy’s name to the Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, shepeherdscovehospice.org or donations can be mailed to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, 408 Martling Rd., Albertville, AL 35951. Kathy’s family wishes to thank Shepherd’s Cove Hospice for not only their continued support for over twenty months, but more importantly for their compassionate, professional, deeply caring and knowledgeable expertise in assisting Kathy and her family members through this incredibly challenging experience. The family wants to recognize several of Kathy’s outstanding Hospice Nurses and Social Workers, including Haley, Andrea, Lynn, Kelly, Stacey, Nicki, Nichole, Kim, Rebekah, and also Caregivers Destiny, Crystal and Sierra. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday February 1, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at the St. William Catholic Church at 929 Gunter Ave. Guntersville, AL 35976 followed by a 1:00 p.m. Memorial Mass. A Celebration of Life immediately following at the Foley Center located next to the church.
John Floyd, 82, of Guntersville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020.
There will be no formal service. Family has chosen cremation.
He is survived by his daughter, Lorie Floyd; sons, Tim Floyd (Betty), Sonny James Floyd; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Sissy Floyd.

Joyce Benford Smith, 94, of Alpharetta, Georgia formerly of Albertville, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Saturday, Jan. 25, at McRae Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joey Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be today from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James Lee and Joyce Smith of Arizona; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Smith and Rudy Griffin of Georgia.

Mary Emily Reaves, 77, of Albertville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020.
No formal services are planned as the family has chosen cremation.
She is survived by her daughters, Tammie Nash (Shane), Tina Martin (Jerry); son, Mark Smith; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Susan Head, Linda Gulledge, Brenda Miller, Nadine Holcombe; brother, Charles Dingler.

Melissa Frances Graviet, 58, of Arab passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.
Per her wishes there will not be any services. Cremation provided by W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel.
She is survived by her daughter, Erika Taylor and her life partner, Bridget Overton.

Noma Jay Townsel, 89, of Boaz, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2020.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Jan. 26, at 2:30 p.m. at Geraldine Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ryan Bristow and Rev. Jeff Davis officiating. Burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Geraldine Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 26 beginning at 1 p.m. until time of service.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Cindy) Townsel of Altoona; daughter, Kathy Said of Boaz; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nell Davis and Jetta Caron.
Shelby J. “Shelba” Allen
Mrs. Shelby J. “Shelba” Allen, 83, of Crossville, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, from the Liberty Baptist Church in Painter with Bros. Chris Andrews and Philip Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 until 7 p.m. Saturday and from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, James Edwin Allen; sons, Jeff Allen and Shannon (Malarie) Allen; sister, Jeanette McMullins; grandchildren, James David Allen, Brady J. Allen, and Maggie Jo Allen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, V.B. and Grace Hammonds; sisters, Wynell Reeves, and Latrell Johnson; brothers, R.C. Hammonds and Kermit Hammonds.
