James “Doug” Bearden


James “Doug” Bearden, 77, of Boaz, passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at his home.

His funeral service was held Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Etowah Memorial Chapel. Burial followed at Bethsaida Cemetery. Rev. Mike Johnson officiated. Pallbearers were his grandsons and members from his church.

Mr. Bearden is survived by his wife, Nancy Bearden; daughters, Kelly Kegley, Laurie Galloway, Kimberly Dilbeck; son, Chip Bearden (Christy); grandchildren, Morgan and Bobby Henry, Haley Lee, Matthew and Corey Bearden, John and Daniel Kegley and Brian Flynn; great-grandchildren, Jude and Beckham Henry; a host of other great-grandchildren; step-brother, Dan Woods (Glenda); step-sister, Dorothy Baker; special friend, Terry Thornton.

He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Pauline and Johnny Woods, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Hattie and Pete Thompson.

Rita Gail Young, 78, of Boaz, passed away Nov. 4, 2019.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Pleasant Hill#1 Baptist Church with Bro. Bruce Campbell, Bro. Joey Bowman and Bro. Jim Kilpatrick officiating. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Young of Boaz; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Phylis Young of Boaz, Mike and Ginger Young of Southside; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law; Joan and Jim Kilpatrick, Peggy and Ray Alexander all of Boaz; brother & sister-in-law; Bobby and Shirley Jean Pullen of Boaz; sister-in-law, Joyce (Gene) Hines of Gadsden.

Judy Ramos


Judy Ramos, 39, of Albertville, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2019.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Rock Springs Cemetery. Bro. Wallace Hayes officiated.

She is survived by her daughter, Claira Ray; son, William Ray; sisters, Sherry Tarvin and Shannon Garmon.
