Albertville junior quarterback Ben Allen is The Reporter/Sand Mountain Toyota Player of the Week for the sixth week of the high school football season.
Allen becomes the first player to receive the honor twice in 2019.
Allen accounted for five touchdowns and 339 of Albertville’s 393 yards total offense in a 42-14 homecoming whipping of Hazel Green.
Allen completed 15-of-20 passes for 229 yards and four touchdowns – two to Trinity Bell and one each to Elijah Moss and Chase Kitchens. He rushed 11 times for 110 yards and a touchdown.
Through six games, Allen has thrown for 1,091 yards and eight touchdowns and ran for 338 yards and five scores.
Other spotlight performances from Oct. 4 games were:
Bell finished with five catches for 86 yards to lead the Aggies. Moss caught four passes for 73 yards.
Cade Boman’s nine tackles paced Albertville’s defense. He’s made 56 tackles on the season.
Kameron Nesbit broke up two passes and intercepted one, and Caleb Champion contributed an interception. Samuel Antonio recovered a fumble, and Chi Jordan blocked a Trojans’ punt.
The Pirates scored 46 unanswered points to sail to a 46-15 triumph over Crossville.
Easton Hardin threw a 99-yard touchdown pass to Alex Hutchens, the longest TD pass in BHS history. Hardin finished with 206 yards, including a 28-yard TD toss to Logan Walls.
Hutchens caught four passes for 156 yards.
Eli Jacobs had three rushes for Boaz, two of them for touchdowns of 2 and 71 yards.
Zion Dunn paced Boaz’s defense with 11 tackles. He also forced a fumble. For the season, Dunn has 54 tackles.
Lorenzo Goss racked up nine tackles and returned a fumble 80 yards for a touchdown. Goss has 81 tackles on the year.
Jaquez Kelly intercepted two passes for the Pirates, and Junior Lankford recovered a fumble.
Fyffe Red Devils
Top-ranked Fyffe’s defense limited Sand Rock to three first downs and 53 total yards while posting its fourth shutout of the season in Friday’s 55-0 rout. Eli Benefield grabbed an interception for the Red Devils.
Fyffe quarterback Zach Pyron finished 2-for-2 passing for 56 yards. His completions went for touchdowns of 5 yards to Kyle Dukes and 51 yards to Malichi Mize.
Pyron also rushed 8 and 14 yards for touchdowns.
Ten players carried the ball as Fyffe rolled up 291 yards on the ground. Ike Rowell led the way with 59 yards on just four carries.
Senior quarterback DJ Graham finished 4-of-4 passing for 124 yards and two touchdowns while leading Geraldine to a 56-20 thumping of Pisgah in Class 3A, Region 7 action. He also rushed 12 yards for a score, contributed a 66-yard kickoff return and picked off a pass on defense.
Graham’s TD passes covered 23 and 71 yards to Jackson Bearden, who finished with three catches for 99 yards.
Anthony Baldwin had 13 carries for 71 yards and TD runs of 13 and 4 yards.
McKinley Orr topped Asbury with 12 tackles in a 49-6 loss to Ider.
Korbyn Patterson closed with nine tackles and a fumble recovery.
Dante Broussard rushed 12 times for 91 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown.
Kolby Lesley and Alex Chacon each contributed an interception in the Lions’ loss to Boaz.
Noah Williams gained 74 yards and four rushes for CHS. He scored on a 66-yard run.
Logan Pate rushed 24 times for 141 yards and four touchdowns in Guntersville’s 43-37 loss to sixth-ranked Madison Academy in a Class 5A, Region 8 game.
Pate’s scoring runs covered 7, 9, 18 and 2 yards.
Cooper Davidson had an interception for the Wildcats.
