Dusty Lee Nix


Mr. Dusty Lee Nix, 34, of Joppa, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Dusty Nix was born on December 21, 1984 in Cullman County to Donahue Nix and Debra Jo Parker Nix. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes, ATVs and motorcycles. In his pass time, he was raising chickens and spending time with family. Dusty was a member of the Arab Masonic Lodge No. 663.

Dusty Nix is survived by his wife of 13 years, Brittany Lee Nixon Nix; parents, Donahue and Debbie Nix; grandfather, Billy Nix; sister and brother-in-law, Danieale Harris & Eric; nephews, Seth Harris and Dalton Brown; nieces, Serenity Harris and Paizlee Brown. Preceded in death by his grandmothers, Esther Nix and Sarah Quinn; grandfather, James Parker; uncle, Wade Nix.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 19, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Bro. Matt Chandler, officiating the service. Burial followed in Arab Memorial Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.

Pallbearers were; Colby Martin, Daniel Click, Jesse Cole, Dalton Brown, Brady Hanson and Lake Mills; honorary pallbearer, Seth Harris.

Nellie Pauline Green Childress


Nellie Pauline Green Childress, 91, of Albertville, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

Her funeral services were held Friday, July 19, 2019 at Albertville Funeral Home Downtown Chapel. Burial followed in Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery. Gene Hines and Janette Green officiated.

Mrs. Childress is survived by her daughters, Bessie Gwathney, Janette Green, Edna Chris Butler, Lynda Sue Dobbins (Lee); sister-in-law, Ruth Bailey; 32 grandchildren.

Albertville Funeral Home Downtown is assisting the family with arrangements.

Darrell “D” Walters


Darrell “D” Walters, 43, of Albertville, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

Visitation will be held today Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home.

Mr. Walters is survived by his wife, Stacie Walters; daughters, Beth Walters (Colton Dozier), Harlie Walters; sons, Spencer Rhyne (Tiffany), Hunter White, Justin Guthrie; four grandchildren; sisters, Jeannie Dotson (Patrick), Heather Jones; brothers, Dennis Walters, Eric Ford, Chuck Ford.

Kelly Regina (Bonds) Engle


Kelly Regina (Bonds) Engle passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019, at the age of 53. Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Kelly was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Landa Bonds.

She is survived by her daughter, Morgan Engle; brothers, Stacy Ray Bonds (Rhonda) and Christopher Bonds; nieces, Kaitlyn Bonds Holcomb, Ella Bonds and Jade Bonds,; her best friends, Karen Powell Stanfield, Kassidie Powell Bailey and Jennifer Dickie; and her faithful and loving fur-baby Ellie.

Kelly lived in Marshall County her entire life and was known for lending a helping hand to anyone that needed help. She was a loving, caring person who loved her job and made sure all her patients felt loved. She helped her friends raise their kids and could be counted on to be there.

Kelly was a 1984 graduate of Albertville High School and a 1994 graduate of Gadsden State Community College, where she received her LPN. Kelly was employed at Mountain View Hospital on Scenic Highway in Gadsden. She will be greatly missed by everyone there.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Hammers Hall, 102 East Main Street in Albertville on Tuesday, July 23, at 6 p.m. Morgan is encouraging all friends and family to come and share their memories of Kelly.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Mountain View Hospital, 3001 Scenic Highway Gadsden, AL 35904.
