Snead State Community College recently presented a one-year full tuition scholarship to the winners of the Alabama Youth Tour Competition, sponsored by Marshall-DeKalb Electric Cooperative.

This year’s winners are Kayla Walker from Douglas High School, Jayden Bobo of Boaz High School, Kobe Culbert of Boaz High School, and Summer Maddox of Boaz High School. Snead State Chief Financial Officer Joe Whitmore presented the scholarships to the winners on behalf of Snead State President Dr. Robert Exley during a special presentation in January.

Other students participating in the competition included Tara Crumbley of Douglas High School, Ana Ruiz of Asbury High School, Larkin Rogers of Geraldine High School, Elisabet Torres of Crossville High School, Yasmin Ramos of Asbury High School, and Jackelin Perez of Crossville High School.

Students must be juniors in high school to participate in the program. The winners will travel with winners from other cooperative areas in the state to Washington, D.C. this summer.
