An Albertville teacher remains on paid administrative leave after a court hearing in Guntersville last week.
Albertville Superintendent Dr. Boyd English confirmed 38-year-old Brandy Taylor was employed by Albertville City Schools. He said Taylor had been placed on paid administrative leave. Former Albertville Superintendent Ric Ayer placed Taylor on paid administrative leave his last day as superintendent, Dec. 15, 2017.
“She is a teacher that has been placed on paid administrative leave for an incident that happened outside of school,” English said. “We are currently in contact with our legal counsel on how to proceed.”
English said he wanted to stress the incident did not occur at an Albertville City School. According to WAFF, Taylor was sentenced to 30 days in jail for assaulting a 12-year-old. However, The Reporter contacted Guntersville Municipal Court and the court records had been sealed.
The Reporter also contacted Boaz Municipal Court and Taylor has a Feb. 15 court date for a domestic violence review hearing for an incident that occurred in 2016.
