Susan Gay Traylor


Susan Gay Traylor, 83, of Boaz, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at her residence.

Her Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Albertville Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 5 until 8 at the funeral home. Bro. Glendale Davis will be officiating and eulogy by Derrick Traylor and Denise Roden. Pallbearers will be Phillip Lemaster, Butch Wills, Keith Bryant, Gary Waldrep, Lynn Bayne, Jeff Davis. Honorary Pallbearers are Ty and Jon Cole, Randall Cook, Terry Paulson, Victor Long.

She grew up loving to play the piano. J.Q. and her played and sang for twenty-two funerals and ten weddings, and sang at many revivals and churches. She loved to travel and traveled most of the U.S., Hawaii, Canada, and Mexico, and loved cruise’s, flea markets, dent can stores and thrift stores. Most of all loved church and loved and supported the church. She missed J.Q. so much and some days it was just Jesus and her in the house. J.Q.’s spirit is still around for he turns on the radio a lot and I hear music and the radio is not on. I love my kids and being their Mother.

Susan is survived by her Son; Derrick Traylor (Partner; Terry Paulson), Daughters; Denise Roden (Husband; Victor Long), Shala Traylor, She is preceded in death by her Husband; J.Q. Traylor, Parents; L.C. and Helen Dick, Brother; Charles Dick, Sister; Helen Diamond.

Goldie Barclay


Goldie Barclay, 86, of Boaz, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2018.

Her funeral service was 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Crossville Memorial Chapel with burial at Belchers Gap Cemetery. Visitation was from 1 until 2 p.m. before the service.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen (David) Ramey; sons, Kenny Barclay, Jason Barclay and Rodney (Marsha) Barclay; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, George (Janice) Henry; and sisters, Daisy (Bud) Allen, Marie Hulgan.

Luther Jackson Presley


Luther Jackson Presley, 74, of Boaz, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018.

A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, at Leeth Cemetery in Sandvalley.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Presley; children, Pam Presley Hayes (Mark), Ron Presley and Bonnie Dupree (Ashley); four grandchildren; and brothers, Jerry Presley and Wallace Presley.

Steve Eddie Townsel


Steve Eddie Townsel, 66, of Boaz, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Townsel; sons, Corey Townsel and Kevin Banks; daughters, Stephanie Yates and Kelly Banks; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and sisters, Deanie Shelton, Ann Underwood and Rhonda Townsel.

Vicie Viola Drappier


Vicie Viola Drappier, 78, of Guntersville, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018.

Her funeral service was 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Albertville Memorial Chapel with burial at Huntsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. David Gamble officiated

She is survived by sons, Alan Thompson and Scott Thompson; brother, John “JV” Embry; and sister, Frances Lynch.

Ramonia Gail Holcomb


Ramonia Gail Holcomb, 58, of Albertville, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2018.

Survivors include son, Bradley Holcomb; six grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Spurlin; and brother, Paul Ray Whitehead.

T.K. Davis


T.K. Davis passed away December 22, 2018 at the age of 88.

He was a longtime resident of Crossville. He was born April 23, 1930 in Marshall County to James and Nettie Lee Davis. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ruth Ellen Glasscock and Mara Lynn Robinson.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, June Barksdale Davis, their four children –

Jane Jordan, husband Marty; Joe Davis, wife Angie; Jerry Davis; and Jay Davis Dunn, husband Alan – 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

T.K. graduated from Crossville High School. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force, including 27 months in the Philippines. While serving there, he attended church service and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in the South China Sea. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church Crossville. He was a Licensed Land Surveyor for 40 years in North Alabama.

T.K. requested his body be donated to UAB Anatomical Science Department after death.

Services will be Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11 am at First Baptist Church, Crossville, Al.

Pastors Marty Jordan and Pete Chadwick are officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please do a good deed to someone in his memory.
