A Horton man pled guilty to raping two elderly women in December 2016.
Marshall County Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Bray said Duke Wiles, 56, of Horton, pled guilty to first-degree rape and first-degree attempted rape on Tuesday. He was sentenced to 30-years in prison for the rape and 20-years for the attempted rape. The sentences are to be served concurrently.
“We’re happy to have him behind bars,” Bray said. “There were other cases of elderly rape in that area, but we didn’t have enough evidence to prosecute. He was a predator in downtown Albertville. He’ll be in prison the rest of his life.”
The first victim was an 82-year-old woman whose home was broken into and she was sexually assaulted. The second victim was an 85-year-old woman Wiles pled guilty to raping.
