Carol Diane Collins
Carol Diane Collins, 64, of Wildwood, passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2019. Ms. Collins was born June 2, 1955, in Duluth, Georgia, to Curtis Lee Gibbs and Violet Pike Gibbs. She grew up in the Sand Mountain region of Alabama before moving to Fort Pierce, Florida. Carol moved to Wildwood with her husband and son in 1988 from Fort Pierce. She was a devout Christian, being brought up in the Church of God. Carol was a singer/songwriter, playing five musical instruments and composing 500 songs and poems. She worked as a housekeeper in The Villages for the last 10 years. She was a beloved mother and best friend of her son. Survivors include her only child, Ryan Traynor of Wildwood; siblings, Wendall C.F. Gibbs and Audrey Gibbs of Oneonta, Loretta Gibbs Smith of Boaz, Sam Gibbs and Doris Gibbs of Eastpoint, Florida, Patty Gibbs Camp & Johnny Camp of Geraldine, Terry Gibbs and Patricia Gibbs of Grey Court, South Carolina, and Angela Gibbs Crandall of Panama City, Florida. Calvin Edward Barnhill
Calvin Edward Barnhill, 68, of Crossville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, Aug. 31, at Albertville Memorial Chapel. Rev. Alan Jarmon will officiate. There will be a visitation from 1-2 p.m. before the service.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Barnhill; sons, Edward Shane (Michelle) Barnhill and Joshua (Melissa) Barnhill; daughter, Jessica (Jonathan) Crumbley; seven grandchildren; brothers, Jack Barnhill, Jimmy Pierce, Tommy Barnhill, Buddy Strickland and Keith Strickland; sisters, Joann Nadelan, Debra Glanton and Elaine Gill.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude Hospital.
Albertville Memorial Chapel is directing.
