Verbon LaVaughn “Butch” Williams, 75, of Horton, died Friday, April 19, 2019.
His funeral service is 2 p.m. today, April 23, at Albertville Memorial Chapel with burial at Douglas Cemetery. Visitation is from noon until 2 p.m. before the service.
Mr. Williams is survived by his daughters, Leslie Wood (Todd), and Lorie Stephens (Jason); six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and sisters, Phyllis Delyn Holder and Janice Payne.
Albertville Memorial Chapel is directing.
Gaynell Simmons, 76, of Boaz, formerly of Altoona, died Friday, April 19, 2019.
Her funeral service was 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, at Etowah Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by her children, Doris Gidley (Jimmy), Wanda Hancock (Eugene), Eddie Simmons (Amy), Randy Simmons (Toni), Barry Simmons (Michelle) and Brian Simmons (Megan); 21 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, William Edward “Billy” Brock Jr.; and sisters, Willie Sue Mashburn and Edna Anita Segler.

James David Beard, 60, of Bessemer, died Thursday, April 18, 2019.
Survivors include daughters, Natosha Douglas (Joey), Nichole Mahan, Suzetta Schrimsher and Charity Blackburn; son, Jeremy Mayhall (Brandy); sisters, Donna Freeman and Joan Mardis (Rick); brother, Nathan Beard; and five grandchildren.
