Gerald Ted Light, 74, of Albertville, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at his residence. Funeral services were held Friday, June 7, 2019, at Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Steven Cornelius officiated. Burial followed in Green’s Chapel Cemetery with Rainsville Funeral Home, Inc. directing.

Survivors included daughters, Paige Moore and husband, Ronnie, of Albertville, Jennifer Lowden and husband, Brian, of Boaz; brothers, W. A. (Duck) Light of Grove Oak, Devell Light of Fyffe, Sonny Light of Geraldine; sisters, Mary Jo Chandler of Rainsville, Toby Davidson of Decatur and Judy Lingerfelt of Fyffe.

Mr. Light was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Elizabeth Light; sisters, Rexine Rowell and Laverne Light; brothers, Frank Light, Junior Light and Maurice Light.

Gynevis Gregg

Boaz

Gynevis Gregg, 92, of Boaz, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Marshall Medical Center South.

Her funeral service was held Friday, June 7, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Boaz. Burial followed in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Aaron Johnson and Rev. Don Ryan officiated the service. Pallbearers were Randall Lee McClendon, Brian Gregg, Adam Howard, Tommy Rorex, Gregg Vinson, Chris Riley, Sgt. Tim Calloway and Joseph Duke. Honorary pallbearers were her nephews.

She is survived by her son, Philip Gregg (Stephney); grandchildren, Brian Gregg (Kristen), Samantha Calloway (Tim), DeAnna Rorex, Brian Rorex (Renae), Wesley Rorex, and Angela Howard (Tom); nine great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. O. R. Gregg, daughter, Karen Faye Rorex, eight brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers the family has ask for donations to First Baptist Church –Boaz in her memory.

Alice Faye Smith, 63, of Boaz, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2019, at Marshall Medical Center South. Private services will be held as family has chosen cremation.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Grady D. Smith of Boaz; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Staci Smith of Boaz, Christopher and Lindsey Smith of Boaz; grandsons, Derek Smith, Taylor Brownlow Smith and Owen Grey Smith; and brother, Allan Smith of Huntsville.

Valerie K. Collie, 65, of Arab, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019. Funeral services were Friday, June 7, 2019, at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home.

Mrs. Collie is survived by her husband, Ray Truss; daughter, Johnie (Eugene) Stanfield; sons, Rickey (Sandy) Collie, Mickey (Susan) Collie; stepsons, Michael (Brandy) Truss, Brandon (Autumn) Truss; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Peggy Gilliland, 65, of Arab, formerly of Guntersville, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019.

Her funeral was held Friday, June 7, 2019, at Albertville Memorial Chapel. Burial followed in Old Clear Creek Cemetery.

She is survived by her brother, Kenny Jordan (Brenda); sisters, Ann Harp and Sandra Looney (Mark); step-children, Debra Walters (Jeff), Tonya Brown and Tammy Neu (Donnie); six step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

Ila Faye Ditto, 85, of Boaz Nursing Home, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

A graveside service was held at Asbury Cemetery Thursday, June 6, 2019.

She is survived by her sons, David Ditto (Teresa), Stephen Ditto; and one granddaughter.
