Billy Ray Chambers, 71, of Albertville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020.

Per his request, he will be cremated, and no formal services are being planned.

He is survived by his sister, JoAnn Brummett; brother, Leon Chambers; daughters, Teresa West (Don), Paulette Chambers, April Brothers (JD), Windy Myberg (Phil); four grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

Albertville Funeral Home Downtown is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dorothy Nell Henry, 87, of Albertville passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2020.

Her funeral service was held Sunday, Jan. 5, at Albertville Memorial Chapel with burial following in Beulah Cemetery. Rev. Tony Holcomb officiated. 

Mrs. Henry is survived by her children, Phillip Henry (Fay), Roger Henry (Melanie), Sarah Glassco (Neal), Patsy Carn (Jon); step-children, James Henry (Rita), Gary Henry (Joan); eight grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; a host of great and step great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald Andrew Brewster.

Michael Lee McCurley, 63, of Boaz passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020.

His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Etowah Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Shannon Black and Rev. Gary Baswell will be officiating.

McCurley is survived by his wife, Dianne McCurley; daughter, Dana Koch (John); son, Kevin McCurley (Jaime); three grandchildren; brothers: Murrel McCurley (Charlotte), Ronnie McCurley (Joyce), Larry McCurley (Gail). 

Etowah Memorial Chapel is directing.

Mildred Gregg Bonds, 91, of Boaz passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2020.

Graveside services were held Sunday, Jan. 5, at Pleasant Hill #1 Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Shannon Pullen officiated. 

Mrs. Bonds is survived by her son, Mike Bonds (Paula); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren.

Gadsden

Robert L. Cook, 64, of Gadsden, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2019.

His funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 6, at Albertville Memorial Chapel. Interment followed in Union Cemetery. Lisa Kennedy and David Abernathy officiated the service. 

He is survived by his wife, Lynette Cook; children, Angelique C. Cook, Ryan A. Cook; two grandchildren; step-children, Keith McMorris, Jennifer Hall (David), four step-grandchildren; father, J. A. Cook; sister, Judy Cook Balance; brothers, Mark and Chuck Cook.

Albertville Memorial Chapel directed.

 

Wanda Ivey

Wanda Ivey, 67, of Horton passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2020.

The family has chosen cremation. There will be a memorial service planned at a later time.

Mrs. Ivey is survived by her husband, Ken Ivey; step-sons, Jeff Ivey, Keith Ivey (Kim); four grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren.
